Matthew Arnold
Matthew Arnold is a Brighton-based artist specializing in digital photomontage. His work often explores satirical themes, with a macabre and grotesque sense of humor that invites viewers to reflect on the absurdities of life.
Originally from London, Matthew has a background in high-end creative retouching, which has shaped his meticulous approach to image creation. Using Photoshop as his primary tool, he creates highly detailed digital illustrations that begin with simple drawings and evolve into complex compositions.
A key aspect of Matthew’s work involves shooting much of the imagery himself, alongside repurposing found imagery from the internet. This blend of personal photography and repurposed content taps into an endless world of bizarre and surprising human behaviors, inventions, and creations, all of which fuel his artistic vision.
